Just like any other online game out there, Apex Legends suffer from cheat/hack use. There are many Apex Legends hacks on the internet where players can purchase. Mostly websites sell their hacks/cheats for between $50 to $200. Though they promise their cheats will never be detected by the Easy-Anti-Cheat software, a lot of players have been removed from the game for usage of third party programs. It must be suck to buy something as expensive as that only to find out that you’re account has been banned next day or even worse.
These cheats include wallhacks, aimbots, no recoil, speed hack etc. Respawn Entertainment have taken the necesarry precautions to prevent cheat usage in-game. Respawn may have taken it too far though. Jay Frechette, Respawn’s community manager announced on a Reddit post saying ”As of today we’ve banned over 355K players on PC through Easy-Anti-Cheat. The service works but the fight against cheaters is an ongoing war that we’ll need to continue to adapt to and be very vigilant about fighting.”. Considering the 50 million player count since the release, 355K doesn’t even make up to %1 of total players. It’s actually a good number for a game that is too young.
Respawn didn’t just end their war on cheating there. They also banned some of the cheating players PC’s from connecting to the game. If developers catches you cheating, they will not only ban your account but they will ban your PC from playing the game ever as well. This is a huge step that Respawn has taken. Unlike Fortnite, the developers are trying to do everything to keep the game cheat-free. Even if it means losing active players.
We don’t recommend anyone using any kind of cheats/hacks since this type of softwares can give you malwares that could potentially harm your hardware. There have been many cases of information theft related to cheat usage in videogames. It is best to stay away from at all times.
